CALIFORNIA SPANGLE was bought privately by Badgers Bloodstock for Howard Liang off Jim McCartan's Gaybrook Lodge as a breeze up horse. In his 14 runs to date, he has never been out of the first two, winning 9 races including the Hong Kong Mile (G1) beating GOLDEN SIXTY and the Hong Kong Classic Cup. He has also run second in the Champions Mile and 2nd to Romantic Warrior in the Hong Kong Derby. To date he has amassed over US$5.3 million in Prizemoney.
